Werner, who joined Leipzig from Stuttgart in 2016, has scored 32 objectives in all rivalries so far this season.

Discussing his transfer to Chelsea Werner stated on the official website of Chelsea: "I am incredibly happy to sign for Chelsea, it is a wonderful moment for me to join this extraordinary club," said the German global.

Werner, who is known for his pace and can likewise play as a winger, expressed gratitude toward the club and fans at Leipzig and said they "would consistently be in my heart".

His July move additionally affirms Werner won't play for Leipzig in the Champions League quarter-finals in August.
