Veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik has been permitted to join the Pakistan crew in England late after having a good time with his family whom he has not met for five months due to the coronavirus emergency, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Saturday.

Malik has been stuck in Sialkot while his wife, tennis player Sania Mirza, and child Izhaan, have been in India because of the restriction on global travel because of the pandemic.

"In contrast to all of us, Shoaib Malik has not seen his close family for almost five months," PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan said in an announcement.

"As traveling limitations are currently gradually backing out and there is an open door for a family gathering, it is fitting that at a human level we show empathy as a feature of our obligation of care and regard Shoaib's solicitation," he included.

The PCB said they have addressed their partners, England and Wales Cricket Board(ECB), who have consented to make a special case for Malik to enter the nation on July 24.

A 29-members crew will withdraw on June 28 for Manchester, before heading to Derbyshire for their 14-day isolate period during which they will be permitted to prepare and rehearse.

Pakistan is booked to play three tests and the same number of T20 Internationals in August-September in a bio-secure condition in England following the COVID-19 pandemic.
