Burnley Ben Mee feels ashamed after a Offensive banner of 'White Lives Matter' flown over Etihad Stadium

Burnley is "embarrassed and humiliated" by a flag perusing 'White Lives Matter Burnley' that was towed by a plane over Etihad Stadium during Monday's match against Manchester City. 

The airplane hovered over the arena soon after commencement in City's 5-0 win.

Burnley and City players and staff had taken a knee on the side of the Black Live Matter development minutes sooner.

"Fans like that don't have the right to associate with football," Clarets captain Ben Mee revealed to BBC Radio 5 Live.

Defender Mee included: "We're embarrassed, we're humiliated

"It's a minority of our supporters - I realize I represent a gigantic piece of our help who separation ourselves from anything like that.

"It unquestionably massively affected us to see that in the sky.

"We are humiliated that our name was in it, that they attempted to join it to our club - it doesn't have a place anyplace close to our club."

In an announcement, Burnley said that the flag "not the slightest bit speaks to" what the club depends on and that they will "work completely with the specialists to distinguish those capable and make the proper move".

"Burnley firmly denounces the activities of those answerable for the airplane and hostile pennant," the announcement included.

"We wish to clarify that those mindful are not welcome at Turf Moor.

"We apologize wholeheartedly to the Premier League, to Manchester City and to each one of those assisting with advancing Black Lives Matter. 

"The club has a glad record of working with all sexual orientations, religions, and beliefs through its honor winning network plan, and stands against the prejudice of any sort.

"We are completely behind the Premier League's Black Lives Matter activity and, following all other Premier League games embraced since Project Restart, our players and football staff enthusiastically took the knee at kick-off at Manchester City."

Both Burnley and City were wearing shirts with the players' names supplanted with 'People of color Matter'.
