European Football Associations medical committee says resuming of football matches is possible
UEFA'committee believes restarting seasons stopped because of the coronavirus pandemic "is definitely possible", just as many European countries are ruling out attempts to return to action.
"All football affiliations which are building the restart of their questions will make broad shows up... guaranteeing that the adequacy of those related with the games is guaranteed and the uprightness of open procedure is protected," said UEFA's clinical leading group of trustees executive, Tim Meyer, in a declaration on Wednesday.
"Under these conditions and in full regard of neighborhood foundation, it is completely conceivable to structure the restart of conflicts suspended during the 2019-20 season."
The comments come a day after the chairman of FIFA's medical committee, the Belgian Michel D'Hooghe, said he was "skeptical" about restarting league football during the pandemic and suggested national rivalries focus on preparing for next season.
"My recommendation is in the event that it is conceivable, stay away from playing authentic football in the coming weeks. Endeavor to be set up for the start of good competition next season," he told the BBC".
The Dutch league season has been abandoned, with no promotion or relegation, while the French Prime Minister on Tuesday poured cold water on the idea that the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 seasons may resume by saying no major sport in the country could take place until the end of the summer.
In addition, Belgium is expected to officially end its league season at a meeting next week.
